Celebrity Wedding Dresses
The Styles, the Designers, and the Price Tags
When celebrities get married we can't help but watch the news coverage and buy the magazines because we would love a peak into their big day. Like all of us, the wedding of a celebrity gives us glimpses at who they are. While we all want to know about the location, one of the most commonly asked questions is about the grown that the bride wore. Knowing what designer was behind the dress lets us not only know about how much she spent on the dress, but what her true style is.
There are some big names in wedding attire, especially for celebrities who can afford to spend the big bucks on their wedding gown that they wear for just a few hours. Christian Dior, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, and Lawrence Steele are names that we can all associate with one celebrity dress or another. Each of these designers has a different style, signature pieces on every gown, or simply has the ability to work with the style and figure of each of the famous women in front of them. It's true; celebrities can afford to pay these designers to make something specifically for them so that it fits perfectly and may even be one of a kind.
In the past several years there hasn't been one true style that has been in or out, because a wedding dress is so personal. Each of the celebrity brides that we have seen over recent years has looked gorgeous, but you couldn't really say that one of them looked like the other. One common theme has been the strapless and fitted white and off white gowns over the last several years. Fitted wedding dresses were not the thing for a long time, but for celebrities that have great bodies, why not flaunt it in a classic, fitted dress? When you have a designer working with you, they can help you wear a fitted dress that accentuates all of your positive attributes and hide the not so positive ones!
One of the very unique yet beautiful dresses that has been seen in the recent past was that of Renee Zelleweger. Though her marriage didn't last all that long, the Carolina Herrera designed gown was something to be seen. The dress was made of bamboo twill and was ivory in color. Renee's dress was form fitting, which seems to be quite popular lately and was strapless. This dress was not overly fancy, but fit in well since she was married on the beach.
Melania Knauss, now the wife of Donald Trump, was one of the brides to be seen in recent months. The bride wore a beautiful Christian Dior wedding dress that reportedly cost more than $100,000! This wedding gown was form fitting, strapless, and had a 16 foot train. Think the new Mrs. Trump looks like a light weight? Think again, her wedding dress weighed more than 50 pounds!

Vera Wang Wedding Dress
Tori Spelling, daughter of the very wealthy late Aaron Spelling, was also a bride to be seen when she was married. Tori wore a very beautiful white, form fitting number that was adorned in crystal beads. This dress screamed beauty, and of course, money!
All of her fans wanted to know what Britney Spears wore to her wedding to husband Kevin Federline. Britney wore a gorgeous, yet simple, strapless number that was designed by Monique Lhuillier. The gown looked great on Brit, as it had a hand sewn train with a lot of detail; to top off the look the bride wore a cathedral length veil. Beautiful, and much more classic than many people had assumed it would be.
The lovely Sandra Bullock also wore a strapless dress, but she chose to go with a white lace ruffled bodice style dress that was quite becoming on her. The dress was designed by Angel Sanchez and reportedly cost $20,000. That isn't all that much in the world of celebrity wedding dresses, though the dress looked like a million bucks on Sandra!
Jessica Simpson, Sharon Stone, and Jennifer Lopez all wore Vera Wang at their weddings. Vera is known to add a bit of color and unique detail to her dresses, something that many brides love. Paris couture is what they call her style, and it becomes most brides very nicely. Off the rack Vera Wang dresses start around $600 and go up and over $12,000. These celebrities may have had dresses made specifically for them and their big day, which would obviously cost more. Given the style and talent of Vera Wang, no price tag is too much to sport her uniquely beautiful designs on your big day.
Demi Moore was a recent bride to her man Ashton Kutcher. Demi chose to wear a one of a kind dress designed by Jeanne Lanvin. The dress was a sheath style and was sparkly. Perhaps one of the nicest features of the dress was the jeweled straps. Demi, always a classy lady, looked simple and elegant in this dress, which was a perfect pick.
Perhaps one of the most unforgettable wedding dresses was that of Jennifer Anniston. Jennifer had the wedding dress that most little girls dream of with the halter style top and the puffy white tulle with pearls sewn into it. Not only did the dress fulfill the fairy tale dreams of this bride, but Jennifer herself looked as though she stepped out of a story book. This is a classic style of dress that will never grow old, because many a little girl wants to fulfill her dream of looking that beautiful for her groom.
There is no standard or way that a celebrity dress must be done, which is nice, because fans and those that look to celebrities for style tips will find a variety of styles to choose from for inspiration. Every celebrity bride sort of does her own thing, if she has it she flaunts it, if she's classy she goes classy, and she always, always fulfills her dreams of what a beautiful bride should be.
